Largest Ford Maverick Tire on Stock Suspension Without Rubbing

Ford Maverick wheel-well clearance checked at steering lock and suspension compression

THERE IS NO UNIVERSAL “LARGEST NO-RUB” SIZE

High confidence · Last verified 27 Oct 2026

Ford documents 225/65R17 on many 2025 Mavericks and 235/65R17 on Tremor. Larger community-used sizes are conditional on the exact tire, wheel width/offset, trim, alignment, load and clearance at full steering and suspension travel.

Search results often present one size as a guaranteed maximum. That is unsafe. Two tires with the same nominal size can differ in measured section width and overall diameter, and a wheel-offset change moves the tire toward the strut or fender liner.

These factory listings establish known configurations, not a blanket aftermarket limit.

A lift that changes resting height does not by itself guarantee clearance at full compression. Check both steering directions through the relevant suspension positions. After installation, inspect brake hoses, wiring, strut clearance and liner contact; then recheck after settling and alignment.

If you need a purchase rule, treat 235/65R17 as a Ford-documented reference on Tremor, not as automatic approval for every trim. Treat 245-class sizes as a measurement project rather than a promised bolt-on result.

Bottom line

The largest responsible choice is the tire whose maker-published dimensions fit your exact wheel and truck through full steering and suspension movement. No article can honestly guarantee “no rub” from the nominal size alone.

For the common next comparison, see 245/65R17 vs 245/70R17 on a Maverick.
