J&L OR UPR FOR DIRECT-FIT; MISHIMOTO ONLY AS A CUSTOM UNIVERSAL INSTALL

High confidence · Last verified 27 Oct 2026

Choose a year-specific J&L or UPR kit when you want documented Maverick brackets and quick-connect hoses. The 2022–2024 and 2025+ EcoBoost applications use different part paths. Mishimoto's compact baffled can is universal rather than a current Maverick-specific kit, so it requires owner-designed mounting and hose routing. None is a Hybrid application.

J&L documents 3044D-series kits for 2022–2024 and 3056D-series kits for 2025–2026 2.0L EcoBoost. UPR likewise publishes separate 2022–2024 and 2025 applications; its current 2025 kit is 5049-305.

Mishimoto sells high-quality universal baffled cans, but no current manufacturer page reviewed here documents a complete Maverick-specific kit. A universal can may work only with a fabricated bracket, correctly sized oil-resistant hose, proper PCV direction and clearance from heat and moving parts.

Drain intervals depend on climate and use; inspect frequently at first. Do not claim that collected fluid proves a guaranteed durability or power benefit.

Bottom line

Direct-fit J&L and UPR kits minimize routing uncertainty. Use Mishimoto only when you deliberately want a custom installation and can validate every hose and bracket.

For another under-hood fit decision, compare the Maverick EcoBoost intercooler choices.
