RIVAL DOCUMENTS HYBRID FWD AND AWD; DO NOT APPLY THAT SHIELD TO ECOBOOST

High confidence · Last verified 27 Oct 2026

RIVAL part 2333.1894.1.6 is documented for 2022–2026 Maverick Hybrid FWD and 2025–2026 Hybrid AWD. It is not an EcoBoost application. An engine skid plate is not automatically a catalytic-converter theft shield, so confirm the protected zone, powertrain, drivetrain and model year before buying.

RIVAL's current catalytic-converter plate is a 14-pound, quarter-inch aluminum application using factory mounting points with no drilling. Its table explicitly separates 2022–2026 Hybrid FWD from 2025–2026 Hybrid AWD.

That does not prove compatibility with an EcoBoost. RIVAL separately labels some engine plates for EcoBoost and Hybrid, showing why product category and underbody coverage must not be conflated.

Protection is a deterrent, not a guarantee. Installation must preserve exhaust clearance, drainage, cooling and service access. Recheck hardware after the first heat cycles if the instructions require it.

Bottom line

Hybrid owners have a documented current RIVAL path. EcoBoost owners should not buy the Hybrid plate based on a shared body shell or an ambiguous marketplace title.

For broader underbody coverage, see the Maverick skid-plate system comparison.
