Ford Maverick Bed Rails, Cleats and T-Bolts: What Fits?

THE FORD CARGO TRACK, FLEXBED THREADED HOLES AND TONNEAU T-SLOTS ARE DIFFERENT INTERFACES

High confidence · Last verified 27 Oct 2026

Use Ford cleats in the Ford bed-track system, documented hardware in the FLEXBED threaded holes, and the cover or rack maker's nuts in accessory T-slots. A generic “T-bolt” is not compatible until its head, shank, thread, engagement and load path are verified.

Ford's Cargo Management System kit NZ6Z9955200A includes two bed tracks, two movable cleats and mounting hardware. Ford states that each cleat is rated to hold up to 200 lb and that the cleats can support crossbars or a bed-divider accessory. The owner manual separately states maximum forces for directly and diagonally opposed pickup-bed cleats; those directional limits are not permission to load one homemade fastener to the same number.

Before using a generic nut or bolt, measure the slot opening, internal cavity, bolt thread, available engagement and clearance behind the rail. A stainless bolt in an aluminum track can also create corrosion concerns without appropriate isolation. Hardware-store fit by feel does not establish a rated cargo anchor.

Ford's 2022 FLEXBED graphic documents eight threaded DIY bed holes, multiple tie-downs, 2×4 and 2×6 pockets and available bolt-in C-channel. The layout supports creative storage, but Ford's published anchor capacities and the accessory maker's instructions still control.

Bottom line

Treat each interface as its own ecosystem. Ford track cleats are for Ford track; FLEXBED holes accept only correctly specified fasteners; and cover T-slots use their own rack hardware. If the accessory maker cannot name the interface and load limit, do not use it as a road-going anchor.

For an accessory that uses factory mounting points, see Maverick MOLLE panels and tonneau compatibility.
