NOT LISTED FOR THE TACOMA LIMITED
No for Toyota TRD kit PTCCY-35380: Toyota lists it for hybrid TRD Sport and TRD Off-Road short beds, not the Tacoma Limited. This does not prove Toyota has no future or separate Limited-specific option; it means this kit is not listed for a Limited unless Toyota issues a new application.
Compatibility snapshot
| Fourth-gen Tacoma application | PTCCY-35380 verdict | Required check |
|---|---|---|
| Hybrid TRD Sport short bed | Listed by Toyota | Confirm current VIN-level application and full kit instructions. |
| Hybrid TRD Off-Road short bed | Listed by Toyota | Confirm current VIN-level application and full kit instructions. |
| Tacoma Limited, including AVS-equipped configuration | Not listed | Do not transfer the TRD Sport/Off-Road approval. |
| Future or separately listed Toyota suspension option | Unknown until published | Use Toyota's current part-number/VIN lookup. |
The published Toyota application is narrow
Toyota's Genuine TRD Suspension Lift Kit PTCCY-35380 says it is developed for the hybrid TRD Sport and TRD Off-Road short bed. See the Toyota part listing. The part page does not list the Tacoma Limited as an application.
That is enough to make the buying decision for PTCCY-35380: a Limited is not a Toyota-approved use of this kit. A similarly sized truck, shared platform or matching wheelbase does not add an approval Toyota did not publish.
Why the Limited is a material configuration difference
Toyota identifies Adaptive Variable Suspension (AVS) as a Limited-grade suspension feature, with built-in actuators that alter damping force. See Toyota's fourth-gen Tacoma overview. Toyota's owner-manual excerpt also says that suspension and tire changes can affect driving-support-system operation and directs owners to Toyota service/repair facilities for verification in specified cases. Read the Toyota manual excerpt.
Those sources do not prove that every aftermarket lift is impossible on a Limited. They do explain why a Toyota-approved application must name the exact grade and configuration.
What the evidence does not establish
The source supports an exclusion for PTCCY-35380; it does not prove a universal absence of every Toyota-approved Limited suspension option. Toyota accessory availability can change, so the correct next check is the current VIN-level dealer lookup. Do not turn a missing application for one part number into an unsupported claim about every Toyota product.
What to do instead
- Give the dealer your VIN and request the current Toyota accessory fitment result.
- If it still does not list the Limited, do not order PTCCY-35380 for that truck.
- For any non-Toyota lift, obtain vehicle- and suspension-specific documentation that addresses the Limited's equipment and the necessary system settings; this guide does not approve one.
Bottom line
Toyota's current listing gives one clear answer: PTCCY-35380 is not listed for a fourth-generation Tacoma Limited. Do not install that kit on a Limited; ask a dealer for a current VIN-level Toyota result or research a separately listed Limited-specific solution. For the broader aftermarket choice, compare Bilstein coilovers with a preload-collar lift while retaining the Limited/AVS boundary.
