Which Ford Maverick Roll-Up Tonneau Covers Work With a Bed Rack

CHOOSE THE RAIL, NOT JUST THE COVER STYLE

High confidence for the named Maverick applications · Last verified 26 Oct 2026

A roll-up tonneau works with a bed rack only when the cover supplies a documented rack interface or leaves room for an approved add-on rail. For the 2022–2026 Maverick, the BAK Revolver X4 TS `80324RK` is one exact hard roll-up application with integrated T-slots. A standard roll-up cover without those rails is not automatically rack-compatible.

“Roll-up” describes how the cover opens. It does not describe how a rack mounts. Two covers can look nearly identical when closed while only one provides the track needed by the rack.

The clearest current hard roll-up path

RealTruck lists the BAK Revolver X4 TS `80324RK` for the 2022–2026 Ford Maverick with the 4-foot-4-inch bed. Its integrated T-slot rails are the feature that matters for a rack; the ordinary X4s and X2 listings are different products and should not inherit the TS claim. See the exact Maverick X4 TS application.

That establishes a rack-ready interface, not universal rack compatibility. Before buying the rack, confirm its T-bolt or adapter dimensions, the approved track family and the load ratings for the complete system.

Why “between the rails” is not enough

Ford lists the RealTruck Advantage hard roll-up cover `VNZ6Z99501A42K` for 2022–2026 Mavericks. Its page says the cover mounts between the rails, leaves the stake pockets accessible and gives full bed access when rolled. Those are useful packaging features, but the page does not identify a bed-rack system or publish a rack load path. Review Ford's exact cover listing.

Ford's 2025 Maverick order guide goes further for the factory-order hard roll-up option `21L`: it says the cover is not available with Yakima bed-rail-mounted crossbars. That is a direct warning against converting “open stake pockets” into “works with a rack.” See the 2025 Maverick order guide.

The Ford cover SKU and factory-order option code may describe related hardware, but this guide does not assume they are identical. Each keeps its own evidence boundary.

Can add-on Elevate rails save an existing roll-up cover?

Sometimes. RealTruck lists Elevate TS rails `1118414` for 2022–2025 Mavericks and says they work with a broad range of cover styles that do not already have built-in T-slots. The Elevate rack product also describes compatibility with most inside-mount soft roll-up covers. Review the Maverick TS rail application and the Elevate rack conditions.

That is not approval for every roll-up cover. The cover clamps must leave the rail mounting area usable, the cover fabric and bows must clear the rack bases, and the current compatibility chart must name or otherwise approve the cover. The rail page currently lists the Maverick only through 2025, so a 2026 owner should not assume carryover without written confirmation.

Will the cover still roll fully open?

Check four clearances:

  1. Rear roll clearance. The rolled bundle needs room to pass or stop before the rear rack uprights.
  2. Latch and tension access. Rack feet must not block the cover's release or tension controls.
  3. Front-bulkhead storage. The open bundle must sit securely without contacting cargo or rack hardware.
  4. Cargo clearance. Kayaks, bikes or a basket may prevent opening even when the unloaded rack does not.

A cover can be mount-compatible while losing full opening. Treat “can remain installed” and “retains full operation” as separate verdicts.

Before you buy

Require all of these identifiers on the same confirmation:

  • 2022–2026 Maverick and 4-foot-4-inch bed;
  • exact cover SKU, including whether it is the `TS` version;
  • exact rack and adapter SKU;
  • on-road, off-road and static use;
  • whether the cover must roll completely open; and
  • any bedliner, cubby or tie-down interference.

If you already own a cover, photograph the inside clamps and measure the available rail space before ordering add-on rails. Do not drill or trim based only on a retailer category match.

Bottom line

For a Maverick owner buying from scratch, a roll-up cover with a documented accessory track is the cleanest rack path. The BAK Revolver X4 TS `80324RK` is an exact 2022–2026 Maverick example. For an existing ordinary roll-up cover, the answer remains conditional until an add-on rail manufacturer approves the cover and model year. “Roll-up,” “between the rails” and “stake pockets remain open” are not substitutes for that approval.

Start with the broader Maverick bed-rack and tonneau compatibility guide if you have not chosen a cover type yet.
