BAK Revolver X4s vs X4 TS for Ford Maverick

· 2 min read

Standard and T-slot hard roll-up tonneau rails compared on Ford Maverick beds

BUY X4 TS IF A T-SLOT RACK IS PLANNED; OTHERWISE X4S DELIVERS THE SAME CORE HARD-ROLL DECISION WITHOUT PAYING FOR THE RAIL INTERFACE

High confidence for current product-family differences; exact Maverick fit remains SKU-specific · Last verified 27 Oct 2026

Both use interlocking aluminum slats, roll for full bed access and publish a 400-lb evenly distributed cover limit. X4 TS adds integrated T-slot rails for compatible racks and crossbars.

The T-slot does not make every rack compatible and does not establish the rack's load limit.

The standard X4s and X4 TS are much closer than their names suggest. RealTruck gives both the same core hard-roll architecture: aluminum slats, rotational locking rails, clamp-on installation, a rolled-open position that preserves rear visibility and a published 400-lb evenly distributed cover limit.

Do not buy standard X4s expecting to bolt a rack to its cover rails later. A rack-ready rail changes the interface. Conversely, do not buy X4 TS solely because it sounds newer if no above-bed cargo system is planned.

For X4 TS, confirm the chosen rack appears in the current compatibility guide and that its feet do not interfere with rolling, latching or the tailgate. Keep the rack's dynamic load separate from the tonneau's evenly distributed top-load statement. If carrying a rooftop tent, also check static, dynamic and off-road limits.

Bottom line

X4 TS is an interface upgrade, not a fundamentally different cover. Pay for it when the rack plan is real and documented.
