CHOOSE THE FORD DIVIDER FOR ADJUSTABILITY; USE THE FLEXBED BOARD FOR SIMPLE LOW-COST CONTAINMENT

Ford's sliding divider fits 2022–2026 Mavericks but requires the separate bed-track and cleat system. It is rated to manage a 100-pound load and can move along the tracks. A cut 2x6 uses the FLEXBED pockets at far lower cost but has fixed positions. A folded bed extender can form a large rear corral only when its exact configuration and tonneau cover are compatible.

Ford part NZ6Z-99286A72-A attaches to the cleats on cargo-management tracks. Ford rates the divider to manage 100 pounds, but the required track kit is sold separately. That makes the full system more expensive than the divider price alone suggests.

Ford built 2x6 pockets into FLEXBED specifically for box-divider ideas. A correctly cut and finished board is simple, removable and strong enough for ordinary organization, but it has no published Ford cargo-restraint rating. A tension cargo bar can move to more positions, yet its friction pads and the bed's molded surfaces must remain stable under braking.

Which option fits the job?

The 2026 order guide says the Ford divider requires the locking bed rails and is not available with the factory soft-folding tonneau. Treat that as a configuration warning even if a retailer page says each item individually fits the truck.

Whatever divider is used, heavy objects still need rated tiedowns. Place dense cargo low, restrain movement in every direction and avoid loading against a divider in a way its maker has not documented.

Bottom line

The Ford divider is the polished choice for owners who already have—or want—the rail system. The 2x6 solution remains the best value for basic containment. Use a bed extender as a divider only if you also need its extension function and have verified cover compatibility.

Compare the Ford and aftermarket Maverick bed extenders before choosing the extender path.
