MX4 FOR THE CLEAREST MAVERICK APPLICATION; ULTRA FLEX ONLY AFTER PART CONFIRMATION

High confidence · Last verified 27 Oct 2026

Choose the BAKFlip MX4 when you want a currently documented 2022–2026 Maverick application, 400-pound evenly distributed rating and upright full-bed access. Choose the Ultra Flex only after UnderCover or the seller confirms the exact Maverick part number. Neither standard cover supplies rack rails; buy the MX4 TS or another T-slot system if a rack is planned.

Both are premium hard-fold covers, but the buying decision is fitment and future cargo architecture—not brand reputation. RealTruck currently lists MX4 part 448324 for the 2022–2026 Maverick. The standard MX4 folds against the cab for full bed access and carries a 400-pound evenly distributed rating.

The Ultra Flex adds carpeted underside panels and an integrated light in its published product design. Its application catalog must still resolve to the Maverick before purchase; a generic Ultra Flex listing is not evidence that the rails and panel lengths fit the short Maverick bed.

Bottom line

MX4 is the safer documented buy today. Ultra Flex remains a valid design choice only when its current selector produces a Maverick-specific SKU. If any rack is part of the plan, stop comparing standard covers and start with a rack-ready rail system.
