Does Toyota’s OEM Roof Rack Fit a 2025 Tacoma SR5?

VERIFY THE CAB AND VIN APPLICATION

High confidence · Last verified 5 Sep 2026

Do not order Toyota’s OEM roof rack for a 2025 Tacoma SR5 solely because it is an SR5. Toyota’s PT767-35100 installation instructions identify a Tacoma Double Cab application, but Toyota sold the 2025 SR5 in both Double Cab and XtraCab forms. Toyota documentation confirms that this rack was in use on some 2024–2025 Tacomas; it does not establish it for every 2025 SR5 configuration.

A 2025 SR5 is not one roof configuration

Toyota lists the 2025 Tacoma SR5 in Double Cab 5- or 6-foot-bed form and in XtraCab 6-foot-bed form. Cab style is therefore a material fitment input, not a cosmetic detail. Toyota's 2025 Tacoma page establishes those SR5 configurations, but it is not a part-specific fitment list.

That distinction matters because Toyota's PT767-35100 roof-rack installation instructions state their general applicability as MY24 Tacoma Double Cab. The procedure uses the factory roof attachment locations and specific hardware; it is not evidence that a rack intended for that application can be transferred to an XtraCab. Read the PT767-35100 installation instructions.

What the 2025 documentation does—and does not—prove

Toyota's 2025 service bulletin T-SB-0016-25 addresses abnormal vibration on some 2024–2025 Tacoma and Tacoma Hybrid vehicles equipped with the accessory roof rack. It identifies the related accessory-roof-rack service kit as PT767-35100-SK. That shows the accessory rack was used on some 2025 Tacomas; it does not list every cab, grade, bed, or VIN that can use it. See Toyota T-SB-0016-25 as filed with NHTSA.

So the accurate buyer decision is conditional:

  • A 2025 Double Cab SR5 may have a Toyota application, subject to Toyota's VIN-level catalogue check and the current installation material.
  • A 2025 XtraCab SR5 is not established by the cited Double-Cab instruction sheet. Do not infer compatibility from the shared SR5 badge or fourth-generation platform.
  • Neither document gives this guide a universal cargo rating. Follow the exact truck's owner's manual and the rack instructions for loading, securement and restrictions.

Do not turn a service bulletin into a fitment catalogue

The bulletin is useful corroboration, not a substitute for the application sheet. Its purpose is a vibration repair procedure for already equipped trucks. It does not authorize a new installation, select a rack for an XtraCab, or replace the vehicle-specific limits in Toyota's manuals.

Likewise, the PT767-35100 instructions give the mounting procedure for the named Double Cab application. They do not prove compatibility with an aftermarket light bar, cargo basket, rooftop tent, or another rack brand. Those combinations need their own manufacturer listing and load limits.

Buy only after the application matches the truck

Before purchasing, give a Toyota dealer the VIN and ask for the current accessory part number and cab-specific application. Compare that answer with the installation document packaged for the part. If Toyota cannot document the exact 2025 SR5 configuration, the defensible result is unknown, not an installation experiment.

Bottom line

A 2025 Tacoma SR5 is not automatically an OEM-roof-rack match. Toyota's installation documentation is Double-Cab-specific, while the 2025 SR5 is offered as either Double Cab or XtraCab. The 2025 bulletin confirms the accessory rack exists on some 2025 Tacomas, but a VIN-level Toyota application must close the remaining configuration gap. If the cargo is a kayak, use the separate mid-height versus full-height kayak-rack decision after roof-rack fitment is established.
