Can a Tacoma Hard or Retractable Cover Work With a Rack High Enough to Clear the Cab?

Yakima’s OverHaul HD Tonneau Set is designed for a defined list of T-slot covers, including Retrax XR-series covers, and lists 300 lb on-road / 180 lb off-road carrying capacity for that tonneau-mounted setup. Separate the two questions

First, identify a documented rack-cover mounting interface. Then check rack height against cab, tent, rear visibility and the load you want to carry. Bottom line

Do not buy a tall rack as a workaround for an undocumented cover combination. Choose a system that preserves the cover behavior you need, then choose its height.
