Will a 2025 Tacoma Tonneau Cover Fit a 2026 Tacoma?

FITS WITH CONDITIONS
Yes for some exact SKUs—but not every cover. For example, BAK/RealTruck lists BAKFlip F1 #772446 for 2024–2026 Tacoma 5-foot beds with the deck-rail system. A 2025 cover transfers to a 2026 Tacoma only when its manufacturer lists that same part number for both trucks' bed length and rail configuration.
Compatibility snapshot
| Transfer situation | Verdict | Evidence boundary | Required check |
|---|---|---|---|
| Same exact SKU listed for matching 2025 and 2026 Tacoma configurations | Fits as documented | The shared manufacturer application controls the answer. | Match bed length, deck rails and supplied hardware. |
| BAKFlip F1 #772446 on matching 5-foot deck-rail trucks | Fits as documented | BAK/RealTruck lists this one SKU for 2024–2026. | Confirm both trucks meet that exact application. |
| Same bed appearance but different or unlisted SKU | Unknown | Model-year proximity and physical size are not a fitment statement. | Obtain the current manufacturer application. |
A current shared SKU proves the transfer; the year alone does not
BAK/RealTruck lists the BAKFlip F1 #772446 for 2024–2026 Tacomas with a 5-foot bed, and specifies that it requires the deck-rail system. That is positive evidence that this named 2025-compatible cover can also fit the matching 2026 configuration. It is not evidence that a different BAK cover, a 6-foot-bed version, or a cover without the required rail interface transfers. Review the current BAKFlip F1 application.
Model years are not a fitment statement
Toyota's current 2026 Tacoma accessory catalog includes hard tri-fold and soft tonneau-cover options, and it still offers both 5- and 6-foot beds across the lineup. See Toyota's 2026 bed-accessory catalog. That does not establish that a particular 2025 cover transfers; bed length and the cover's mounting system still decide it.
The correct source is the cover maker's application for the exact part number. For example, BAK's Tacoma installation materials are tied to a stated Tacoma application and give cover-rail, clamp and drain-tube procedures. See BAK's 2016+ Tacoma installation sheet and its 2024+ Tacoma Revolver installation sheet.
These documents show why fitment must remain SKU-specific: rails, clamps and drains are part of the installation. They do not make other brands, model families or bed lengths interchangeable.
The three checks that prevent a bad transfer
1. Match the manufacturer part number
Open the maker's current application lookup. The same part number must be listed for a 2025 Tacoma and a 2026 Tacoma with your exact bed. A product title or a retailer's generic “Tacoma” label is not enough.
2. Match the rail and clamp interface
Follow the installation sheet for the selected SKU. BAK's instructions, for example, specify how rails, clamps and drain tubes are installed. If the new truck or cover needs different hardware, the older cover is not an as-sold transfer.
3. Recheck function after installation
Close and open the cover, inspect seal contact and route drains exactly as instructed. If clamp engagement or bed clearance is uncertain, stop and contact the cover maker instead of adapting the hardware.
Bottom line
The answer is conditional, not a blanket yes: a 2025 Tacoma tonneau cover can move to a 2026 truck when its own manufacturer lists the identical SKU and configuration. BAKFlip F1 #772446 is one listed 2024–2026 5-foot/deck-rail example. Without an equivalent listing for the exact cover, treat the result as unknown and do not buy or transfer on appearance alone. For other named 5- and 6-foot applications, use the 2024–2026 deck-rail tri-fold fitment guide.
